I was born and raised in the island of Puerto Rico, the eldest of four brothers, in a home shaped by service and learning. My father was a psychiatrist educated in Spain, and my mother was a social worker with a master’s degree. From an early age, they both instilled in me the importance of helping others.

But by the time I was 20, everything had changed.

My father became seriously ill and could no longer work consistently. My mother suddenly had to shoulder both the emotional and financial responsibilities for our family. A year later, she passed away unexpectedly. We moved to Orlando, Florida, to be near my dad’s side of the family, and less than two years after that, my father also died. Overnight, my brother and I found ourselves raising our two younger siblings and navigating adulthood without a safety net.

I left college and took whatever work I could find: kitchen shifts, warehouse forklift driving, delivery routes, and tech support; anything that would keep us going. Years later, I returned to college and completed my bachelor’s degree, but those early years taught me something no classroom ever could: what financial fragility and life-changing disruption truly feel like.

That lived experience is what ultimately led me to financial planning.

After working in corporate roles and as a government contractor, I joined Charles Schwab & Co., where I supported financial planners and investment advisors nationwide. There, I saw firsthand how thoughtful, well-designed financial planning could change families' trajectories, not just their portfolios but also their peace of mind.

Inspired by that work, I began my journey to become a Certified Financial Planner®, and one of my client advisors eventually recruited me to help in their practice. Today, I bring both professional expertise and deep human understanding to every client relationship.

Through Mindful Wealth, LLC, I can show that financial planning is more than spreadsheets and projections. It is a stabilizing force when life feels uncertain. Whether you’re navigating a major transition, managing cross-border complexity, or rebuilding after disruption, my goal is to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
